Sarah Sales BA (Hons) LRAD - Ballet Sarah began ballet lessons at her local dance school at an early age. She loved dancing and quickly added classes in modern and tap to her weekly timetable, finding herself at the dance studio every night of the week. Her passion for dance flourished and she regularly appeared in amateur and professional shows. Sarah also competed at festivals at weekends and during school holidays. At eighteen Sarah went to study at the Royal Academy of Dance on the full time BA (Hons) Art and Teaching of Ballet degree course. During the three years spent studying at the Royal Academy of Dance Sarah had a varied timetable taking classes and examinations in Classical ballet, Repertoire, National, Contemporary, Modern, Choreography, History, Anatomy, Notation, Child Psychology to name only a few. On graduating from the Royal Academy of Dance Sarah was awarded a BA Honours degree as well as her RAD Licentiate teacher status allowing her to enter students for RAD examinations. Sarah also achieved the ISTD Modern Associate. Sarah taught in Barbados for a year before returning to London to freelance. Sarah has two children and lives in Upminster. Janet Leak L.I.S.T.D/AISTD DIP BTEC Diploma in Performing Arts Janet started dancing from an early age at her local dance school, and at the age of 11 she also joined the Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts on a part-time basis. On leaving full time education and whilst working as an HR professional full time in London, Janet trained at The Centre of Performing Arts as a post graduate under the guidance of Karen King, gaining her ISTD teaching qualifications in Tap and Modern Theatre Dance. She began her teaching career progressing to running a business as Principal / Business Owner of the West Essex Dance Centre. Teaching Tap, Modern Theatre Dance, Jazz and Musical Theatre as well as organising examination sessions and directing and choreographing the annual school productions. Janet has also undertaken the roles of Dance Captain for the London Bronco's Cheerleaders and West Ham United's Hammerettes. After 7 successful year's of running a business and in the early years of her own family, Janet decided to become a freelance Dance Teacher working for a private dance centre. She was solely responsible for setting up and maintaining the schools’ appropriate standards of the ISTD Modern Theatre Dance and Tap Syllabus. Janet continued with her professional development and went on to further her teaching career by gaining Licentiate Status, under the guidance of Christina Ballard. Janet continues to freelance as a Teacher of Dance in a number of performing arts schools, including an OFSTED registered private school which has included an appointment to a Head of Performing Arts. Janet has over 20 year’s teaching experience and is a fully registered member with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), and has attained registered teacher status. She has had the pleasure of working with children and adults of all ages and continues to spread the joy of dance. Brook Ogle - Ballet Brook Ogle received her primary training from the Alabama School of Fine Arts and Briarwood Ballet in Birmingham, Alabama, USA before graduating with honours with a BFA in Dance Performance from Butler University. Brook has danced professionally with City Ballet of San Diego, Nashville Ballet, Charleston Ballet Theatre, Hosanna Sacred Arts, and as a guest artist with Ballet Internationale, dancing such roles as Myrtha in Giselle, Dew Drop Fairy and Snow Princess in The Nutcracker, Tiger Lily in Peter Pan, Big Swans in Swan Lake, and has been featured in ballets by George Balanchine such as First Pas de Trois in Agon, Allegro Brillant, Serenade, Rubies, Emeralds, and Donizetti Variations. Brook served 4 years as the director and choreographer for City Ballet 2, which functions as the junior company of City Ballet of San Diego. She has also served as choreographer and youth cast rehearsal director for The Nutcracker at City Ballet of San Diego, choreographer for the performance ensemble at San Diego Civic Youth Ballet, and has taught regularly at City Ballet School and San Diego Civic Youth Ballet. Annabelle Vickery - Ballet LRAD ARAD RAD RTS Annabelle began her dance training at a young age as a student of the Upminster School of Dance and various other schools around the area, training in classical ballet, tap and modern theatre dance. At the age of 18, Annabelle was accepted at the Royal Academy of Dance in London and now holds her BA (Hons) in Ballet Education and the Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Dance with Merit. She has also been awarded her Advanced 2 Examination, as well as vocational exams in Tap and Modern Theatre. She is now also training to qualify as a teacher in these disciplines. Annabelle comes with a wealth of both teaching and performing experience, having taught in various settings around London and Essex including dance schools, after school clubs and community programmes teaching all ages. She has taken part in various performances and shows, most recently as a dancer on BBC’s ‘Let’s Sing and Dance for Comic Relief,’ and regularly takes part in charity performances to raise money for organisations such as Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund and Havering Mind. Annabelle’s biggest passion is instilling a lifelong love of dance and performing into her students, and her goal is to make every student achieve their very best and feel that they bring a worthwhile and value contribution to their classes. |
